Temperament:
British Shorthairs are very independent, yet they are extremely affectionate. They are very alert and quizzical. They enjoy following you around the house to make sure you do things right according to them. The males, in particular are extremely people-oriented, usually downright mushy at times. This is an extremely quiet, little talking cat breed. British shorthairs are easy to groom, as their fur does not tangle and should be combed very lightly. They make ideal pets for less active people as well as for busy households. They also do very well with families with children.
